Exchange Program with Students of Niagara University, New York, United State

Within the Internship Program‘s activity framework of students from the University of Niagara, New York-USA at the 5 * IMPERIAL Vung Tau Hotel, English Club with the theme "Easts meet Wests, Have fun together" was successfully organized by IIHS in cooperation with Hotel HR Department on June 1, 2017.

The program consists of two cultural topics: Cuisine and Vietnamese Traditional Costume, took place in two sessions with the enthusiastic responses and participation of IIHS students and hotel staff.

With Cuisine topic, all teams presented their talent in making Vietnamese traditional spring rolls and artfully decorate fruit. How to roll all ingredients in a fragile rice paper but still keep the truly taste of Vietnam was an interesting challenge for American students. With the enthusiastic help from IIHS students and hotel staff, NU students finally found out the way to make it successfully, the white rolls which are presented nicely with the green of the shallot and herbs, the red of boiled shrimps, white noodles… looked as delicious as mild as it is. Another hard challenge was crafting and decorating the fruits. Each team tried to show their talent in crafting watermelon, peeling pineapple and shaping from popular fruits in Vietnam. In the end, all teams sat together to enjoy their achievements and shared more about the traditional culture of each country.

With the theme of traditional costume, the participants experienced a lot of emotions, from happiness, fun to surprise. Each team was selected a traditional costume of Vietnam to wear and show. It is interesting when our NU students dressed up typical costumes of the regions of Vietnam such as the “ao tu than” of northern delta, the “H’mong dress” of North West, the “E-De dress” of the Central Highlands... it was really fit and beautiful. In addition, all teams had to perform a dance on demand. The openness of the foreign students and the friendliness of the IMPERIAL Hotel's students and staff brought the intimate, friendly atmosphere.

The program made great impression and lots of memorable experience for NU students as well as provided opportunity for hotel students and staff to improve their English communication skills.
