15th APacCHRIE 2017 Conference – The Future of Hospitality and Tourism: Opportunities & Challenges
From 31st May to 3rd Jun, Prof. Dr. Karl Brandmeir represented the Imperial International Hotel School to attend 15th APacCHRIE Conference in Bali, Indonesia.
This organization is affiliated with International CHRIE (United States) and EURO CHRIE (European CHRIE). All of these are a partnership between educational institutions and the greater hospitality industry. Apac-CHRIE is the newest of these organizations. I-CHRIE traditionally has many hospitality companies actively working the conference looking for future employees as well as supporting the educational institutions.
APacCHRIE conference annually holds in its member countries with themes related to global hospitality, tourism and education. The conferences have been held in several countries, including Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, China, Perth, Philippines and New Zealand. In 2017, the 15th APacCHRIE conference was held for the first time in Indonesia, and STPBI is designated to host the event. This year’s theme of the conference is “Future of Hospitality and Tourism: Opportunities and Challenges”.
This conference had over 247 research papers submitted and presented which covered and revolved around the theme “Future of Hospitality and Tourism: Opportunities and Challenges” – this topic of high relevance not just in the Asian region but globally. It refers to all problems that may affect the hospitality and tourism industry such as financial crisis, economic downturn, political instability, natural disaster, technological crisis, epidemic diseases, etc. Participants in the conference, delegates as well as representatives of education institutions in the field of hospitality and tourism exchanged and shared views and updates.
In this conference, Prof. Dr. Karl Brandmeir has participated in presentation sessions on topics related to Hospitality and Tourism Industry such as Food and Beverage, Human Resource, Tourism Destination and Tourism Marketing. This is also an opportunity to promote the Imperial International Hotel School and enhance IIHS’s reputation on Global basis.
